Questions business owners ask
Are peptides legal now?
Six are lawfully compoundable since October 28, 2026: BPC-157, TB-500, Epitalon, Semax, KPV and MOTS-c, under an HHS enforcement discretion policy with ten conditions. Sermorelin has been compoundable for longer. Most other peptides people ask about are not, and nothing has changed for vials sold online without a prescription.
Is this FDA approval?
No. The policy says HHS does not intend to take enforcement action against licensed pharmacies and physicians who compound the six under its conditions. The peptides remain unapproved, no trial has established that they are safe or effective, and the policy can be withdrawn. We say this on every page because clients will ask you, and the honest answer is the one that protects your business.
Do we need a clinician or medical director?
No. Every evaluation and prescription is handled by independent, licensed clinicians at Beluga Health, who serve all fifty states. Your staff never diagnose, prescribe, or give medical advice.
Can we choose which peptides to offer?
You choose which programs appear on your storefront. Which peptide, if any, a given client receives, and by which route, is the clinician's decision alone. The routes are fixed by the policy: for example Semax is intranasal only and KPV is topical or oral only.
Will clients be able to get BPC-157 and TB-500 together?
Not in one product. The policy allows a single active ingredient per compounded product. A clinician could prescribe two separate products if appropriate; that is a clinical decision, not a storefront option.
How do we get paid?
You are the seller of record. You buy the program at one published wholesale price and set your own retail price, keeping the margin. No payment changes hands for sending business.
What does it cost to run?
Nothing to set up and nothing monthly. The only charge is $50 per treatment, per month, on active programs. Clinician, pharmacy and shipping are billed at cost. No clinician to hire, no software licence, no stock to carry and no minimum, so a month with no sign-ups costs you nothing.
Which states can we launch in?
Clinician coverage is nationwide. Pharmacies in the network already compound the six under the policy's conditions. Availability for a given state can still depend on that state board of pharmacy's response to the HHS policy. Tell us your state on the partner form and we will confirm what is live.
Where does the peptide come from?
From a 503A pharmacy that compounds it, for that client, from bulk peptide made by an FDA-registered manufacturer and covered by a certificate of analysis meeting the policy's testing standard. That chain is the difference between this and a vial from a website, and it is the whole reason the policy exists.
What do our staff actually say?
One scripted sentence introducing the program, and nothing more. They do not assess suitability, recommend a peptide, suggest a dose or answer a clinical question. All of that belongs to the clinician.
What happens if a client is not eligible?
The clinician declines and the client is not charged. We place a temporary hold at checkout and release it if no prescription is issued. Nobody is guaranteed treatment, and you should be wary of any platform that suggests otherwise.
What if the policy is withdrawn?
HHS has said it may revisit the policy if a safety signal or quality issue arises. If that happens, the peptide programs pause and the rest of your storefront continues. You will hear it from us the day it happens, not from a client.
Can we also offer weight loss, hormones and the other programs?
Yes. Peps Healthcare runs on the same platform and storefront as every other Local Healthcare program. Many partners will add peptides to a storefront that already sells medical weight loss; others will start here.
What risk do we still carry?
This is a narrower risk, not no risk. You do not prescribe, diagnose, dispense or hold patient health information, and you never buy, own or sell the medication, so clinical negligence, drug product liability and a health-data breach sit with the medical group, the pharmacy and us. What stays with you is your own business: your marketing, your staff and how you sell. Worth asking your broker whether your existing liability and cyber cover already respond to those. This is not legal or insurance advice.
